Long time no news... That I can share yetBeen a while since I shared anything on DeviantArt. I see a lot of journals here start that way... Allow me to add to their volume!
What happened? Did comic con go well? The answer to that is yes! Our Avatar fan panel was highly enjoyable success and meeting our guest panelists Mae Whitman (voice of Katara) and Dante Basco (voice of Zuko) was a real highlight!
As well as be able to present a newly made puppet Korra to Bryan Konietzko as well as have the lovely Janet Varney (voice of Korra) play with her for the Entertainment Weekly cameras!
So what's next for the Legend of Puppetbender? I can't give full details yet but it's something very cool, very soon, and not just for YouTube!
I'm excited to share more when I can but rest assured, all the Korra characters are going to be making their way to puppet form with several new videos in the pipeline! -I know I've said that before with long delays in the past, but c'mon! Have I ever not fulfilled the promise eventually? Plus like

Devious Journal EntryMy opinion beneath this I did not write this to target anyone, just one of my little internet pet peeves.
I know I can't stop it because there will always be some annoying person (usually a kid who's being super stubborn and thinks they're not doing anything wrong), but I'm still going to let you guys know one my pet peeves online and why kids need to be shown this is wrong:
Recolouring someone's art and posting it on facebook does not make it yours. Or reposting it anywhere without the artist's consent.
Can't draw, practice then. That's how I got to where I am now. Just pick up a darn pencil and DRAW. That's the sucky thing about internet; kids or people who have either begun or just draw out of fun compare themselves to the works of people who have drawn things for years, and then get so discouraged they decide to just copy the image and draw over it.
I mean, really.
What a lot of people don'T know is that when you post things on social networking sites like Tumblr or facebook, a

Sorry it took so long to post, had to show it to a few people beforehand
Also, check out my youtube, I posted a few more storyboard goodies there! Link is above the journal
Pet Peeves, anyone?I've wanted to write about this for a long time, but I always get scared that people will hate on me for it. But then I see other more talented artists do it, so I figured, won't hurt to do so either, right? Besides, it's just my opinion. Here are a few of mine, and you don't have to agree with me, I'm just writing this for the heck of it.
When people slam the pew bench kneelers in the church, either on the floor or against the seat in front of them. All them echoing BANGS in a cathedral... God can hear you guys perfectly fine, people. X)
When I'm too afraid to give my opinion outloud due to accidentally hurting someone else :S Tis a pity, because some people can do it wonderfully.
When someone in the theater is "whispering" but you can hear them over the narrator of the film.

My Apritello RantWARNING: This is an incredibly long rant on Apritello. If you do not like Donnie and April as a couple in any way, please, do not bother reading this. I don't want to waste your time (especially since I'll be defending the ship).
So often I've been asked "Which ship do you prefer? Apriltello, or Capril?"
There's nothing wrong with that question. After all, I draw fan-art for both sides, so I understand that it's confusing.
For those that are wondering, I am indeed a Capril shipper. (What can I say? I find those two adorable together.) However, no. That does not mean that I hate Apritello in ANY way.
I don't know why, but many seem to assume this. Which is precisely why I am writing this rant.
You see, whenever I meet a Capril fan, for some odd reason a vast majority of them thinks that instead of talking about how adorable Casey and April are together, the first thing they want to discuss with me is how awful Apritello is.
No. No. No.
Why on earth would you t
Zutara Week 2014 is about to launch!Yo, long time no chat! It's been fairly quiet on our end for a multitude of reasons - most being that spontaneity struck our two-person team and rallied up with Mr. Dante Basco to come up with our themes this year. (I know, we bypassed the voting system. We suck! But hey, we thought this would be way cooler with the time crunch coming near!)
That said, there are a few things we'll be doing differently this go around! One of those being that we will no longer feature chosen submissions. It would unfair to say to the whole of this group that we can read and view every single piece that is submitted the week of! We want to reconnect with the roots here, and make this year about sharing amongst ourselves with our fanworks - no popularity contests, no extensive selection process - none of that. This year, we're going to throw all of the submissions into the featured folder, and set the rotation to "random" so that everyone gets a turn on the front page
Quick mention about the PnF Panel guys!I see a lot of you have finally gotten to see what I designed exactly for Act Your Age Everyone has been getting super hyped up about it.
However, I'm just going to clear something up for you guys before you get more confused:
This picture here:
Are not the final designs.
These were the ones I designed over three years ago for fun. They asked me if they could use the picture because it had all five of the kids, including Perry in it. It was the last picture I completed of them as teens before I was given the task to design all the characters (and by all I mean all. Every character in the episode excluding the parents, Perry and Doof) were designed by me.
And unless you were at the panel yesterday, you won't see the actual final designs for the four main guys just yet X)
Some have changed excessively, and honestly for the better. And I'm still really proud of the work I could do.
So just a recap, that photo from the con t

How to Skin Your PuppetOver time a lot of people have asked me what is the process for making a fleece skin for puppets. While I've been making a certain "Avatar mentor" for the next Nickelodeon Puppetbender video, I've actually had the presence of mind to take photos along the way to finally answer that question!
Life is but a DreamWe are just unnourished frail bodies,
overfed with white lies and short-lived-euphorias.
Books filled with black letters,
etching lurid images into our utmost dreams.
Veering us from the big picture...
the one we fail to paint ourselves.
Our fists much too busy with fights,
that we are bound to lose.
Too occupied in line waiting,
for creativity to be let loose like a stray dog.
As if we will find home in this pursuit of happiness...
but we only enclose each other in small rooms
with nothing but old laptops.
How many times I've guessed which letter could it be...
Which letter could it be?
To free us from havoc-stricken-thoughts?
They come and go, unending like 24 hour subway stations.
There's no break for this lonely man,
heaving every breathe of stale air
into my overused lungs...
Living in confined walls of flesh
held up with brittle paper-mache bones.
Which day is it that I will burst out from this cage of a life?
And hover with the Gods found in carefully binded bo
