I've been asked to help relay some cool info courtesy of Mike and Bryan for all Avatar fans who'll be attending San Diego Comic Con...
"Mike and I are excited to announce we will be doing a signing at this year's San Diego Comic Con, currently scheduled for 4:00 - 6:00 on Saturday afternoon, July 25.
We will be filming a documentary on the making of the television series, and we'll be taping our interactions with people while they get their new ATLA SDCC '09 posters signed (which I am drawing right now!). The producers of the documentary will be pulling certain people who make a great impression aside to film "testimonials" about what the series has meant to each of them. Also, we'd love to film people in their best "Avatar" costumes, new or old, earlier in the day on Saturday.
We're not sure if there is already a cosplay gathering planned, but it would behoove us greatly if people could gather at a specific time and place on Saturday, dressed to impress! Bring your favorite fan art, puppets, whatever you want to show to the documentary crew. Thanks! See you in San Diego!

For those of us who already have secured SDCC passes, this is awesome news! For those that don't, I know it's going to be frustrating since the convention is currently
sold out. HOWEVER- SDCC has announced that as requests for refunds come in, they will be making those passes available again. Keep watching their website for announcements on when those refund passes will go on sale:
[link]So again, here's how Saturday's events are going to go:
-There will be a ticket draw for autographs (save the complaints- that's how it rolls at SDCC) which is currently scheduled to be at 10am Saturday July 25th. If you were at the ticket draw last year, you may remember how long some fans needed to stick around till they drew a winning ticket, so budget your arrival time accordingly.
-After that, the cosplay meet up is once again being organized by

Sockai-Chan and for purposes of the documentary filming and the ticket draw, is currently being scheduled 12pm that day.
Cosplay meet-up:
Date: Saturday July 25th
Time: 12 noon
Place: Across from Ballroom 20D
The autograph sessions will then be held after the meet-up. Exact location is still to be determined, but my bet is it'll be somewhere in the dealers room- Most likely the Nickelodeon booth.
*Please check back either here or with Ethereal-Glutton's

journal to confirm the cosplay meet up times often. It may change if it conflicts with the time fans need to line up for autograph tickets and if so, we'll post the updates.
ALSO- we would like to echo something Bryan mentioned in his announcement. The documentary's focus is the original animated series. This is an opportunity to go deeper into the creative process behind Avatar, and celebrate the series through the creators eyes and those of many of the fans. Their presence at SDCC this year focuses on this documentary, and
NOT the Live Action Film. It's our understanding that some fans hoped to protest the casting of Last Airbender at SDCC. We kindly ask that those passionate fans please refrain from protesting during all the filming surrounding this documentary and the autograph session. Mike and Bryan have absolutely nothing to do with the casting. Let's not hinder efforts to bring more content to the fans that has nothing to do with the matter of protest. This is an opportunity to go back to the fandom roots of the show and enjoy what the series has meant to us.
Good luck to everyone hoping to make it out to San Diego this Summer!
